When I was first getting ahold of my finances over a decade ago, I found Dave Ramsey, went through Financial Peace University, and got my finances in order by working my way through the baby steps (like thousands of others have done).
Dave Ramsey has helped countless people get control of their finances, but no radio/TV personality would be complete without a plethora of memes to bring some humor into our lives.
I’ve compiled my list of favorite Dave Ramsey memes here.

1) Wrath of Beans and Rice
If you’ve followed Dave Ramsey for any length of time, you know he advocates going on the “beans and rice, rice and beans” diet until you’re out of debt.
While this can free up a lot of money to pay off your debt quickly, there are some unintentional gastrointestinal consequences of a high fiber diet…

Christmas is coming, and Dave Ramsey is here to spoil your overspending party. If Dave Ramsey was Santa, we’d all be getting bags of beans and rice for Christmas.

3) Baby Step 2
Paying off debt is not easy, especially when there is a mountain of it before you. It can feel like “84 years” at times, but don’t give up! It gets easier the more momentum you build.
I promise you won’t be like Rose from Titanic here, awaiting your debt-free scream.

4) Better Than He Deserves
If there’s one saying that Dave Ramsey is famous for it’s the answer to the question, “How are you Dave?”
Makes you wonder if he ever gets tired of saying the words, “I’m better than I deserve.”

5) What’s in my wallet?
It’s no secret that Dave is against credit cards, so when Samuel Jackson asks him the question, the answer is simple.

6) Pizza Emergency
When our self-discipline is waning, we can find ourselves asking, “Does my pizza craving qualify as a good use of my emergency fund? I’m hungry. It’s delicious. I see no problem here.”
But in reality, no pizza does not qualify as an emergency.

7) Where’s the 12%?
The stock market has been taking a beating this year (2022) and those highly touted 12% returns are appearing like a fantasy. Milton isn’t happy.
The truth is this: while 12% every single year is not realistic (some years the market will be up 20%, other years down 20%), over the long-haul if we keep dollar-cost-averaging into solid ETF’s, we can safely assume a long-term return of closer to 7-8%.
This is one area I disagree with Dave Ramsey on. 12% returns are pretty stellar, so we should plan for something more realistic like 7%, and be pleasantly surprised if we get 12%.

8) Rice and beans stockpile
The amount of times I’ve heard Dave Ramsey say “rice and beans, beans and rice” over the years is truly breathtaking.
I have to imagine he has dreams of swimming in an ocean of black beans.

9) Monopoly rice and beans?
If you’re playing monopoly, you better cut up that credit card, save at least 3-6 months of expenses, and go gazelle-intense on stacking cash.
Or, you could just play the game how it’s intended…

10) Dave Ramsey & Visa Partnership
Dave would be happy to promote the “Visa Ramsey Card”. It has several key features:
- Zero dollar credit limit
- Locks down immediately when you pull it out of your wallet
- Dave personally knocks on your door to slap you if you try to buy a purse with it
Sounds like a great deal to me!
